Why
I'm
Grateful

Gratitude is divine to me and with it comes ability to bring a positive impact to our lives as well as the lives of others. The potential is infinite when we tap into the force of being grateful. I know this because I've lived with gratitude and lived without gratitude - and I strongly reccomend going with the first option. Choosing to live with gratitude has brought back everything I lost while living without gratitude. I choose to be grateful daily and practice the feeling of gratitude to be, and continue to become the best version of myself, to share and spread hope thru my creative ability, voice, and uplift others, I'm grateful for the chance to spread gratitude with love.
In my journey I've been blessed with so much. A degree from The Ohio State University, good friends, creative talents, a voice, jobs, homes, cars, a clear mind, health. I lost all of this in my struggles with drugs and alcohol, during which I also lost my gratitude.
When I would lose my gratitude I would also lost everything around me. Chasing after drugs and alcohol, the desire for more and more fueled by addictive substances, slowly everything was taken from me. Cars crashed jobs were lost and friends were gone and my health was withering away. Addiction switched off the grateful part of my brain, and suddenly I wasn't enough, nothing I had was enough, I needed more of this, I wanted more of that, I desired change, but couldn't witness the present. I could blame the drugs and alcohol but today I see it as a lesson I had to learn on gratitude, gratitude's importance to me, and discovering the act of being grateful as one of the keys to living good life.
Drugs and alcohol didn't make me a bad person, it made me ungrateful. It took my mind out of my present moment, when that happens, everything else is taken too.
So I began doing the opposite. Practicing gratitude for all the blessings I have today. And when that happens, everything else grows.
Gratitude taught me to be present and be a part of the everyday miracles unfolding.
With gratitude the jobs have came back, the creative opportunities come back, my voice has come back, the car, the mind, the friends, relationships, the communication, the appreciation has all came back. Thank God.
And the blessings continue to grow. Bringing a sense of gratitude and making a daily list and also physical practice gratitude thru prayers, action, speech, and creation has changed my life forever, reunited me with my spirituality and the Highest, God.
I started Grateful To Be Here as a vehicle to share that positivity and truth of gratitude with others, to inspire others to be and feel their best, and to experience joy in this beautiful thing we call being alive.

I feel that this is just the beginning of truly bringing vision and psoitivity to the world thru many forms, I look forward to the blessings on the way and am thankful for that today.
